Water Tank Filter For Homes Of All Sizes
Complete Water Purification all in one unit. A complete rainwater tank filter – the UV Guard CWP-55.
Protect your family from harmful pathogens such as E.Coli and Cryptosporidium. This complete water purification unit is is ideal for treating all drinking water entering your home.
UV-Guard’s CWP-Series purifies water to allow it to be safely consumed or used throughout your home or commercial facility. This complete water treatment system combines filtration, adsorption and UV disinfection – three processes proven to remove sediment, improve taste, clarity & odour and inactivate bacteria and pathogens in your water. An effective rainwater treatment system – transforming your collected tank water to safe drinking water. Can also be used for bore water and town water treatment.
This complete rainwater tank filter includes the following:
• Filtration and UV treatment system with weather protection cover
• Heavy duty twin 4.5″ x 20″ poly filter housings
• Premium washable 20 micron pleated sediment filter
• Silver impregnated 5 micron antibacterial carbon block filter
• 316 grade stainless steel WaterMark certified UV reactor – WaterMark certificate number ISC-WM-030013-I02-R00
• 1″ Female bsp inlet and 1″ male bsp outlet connections in a “U” configuration
• 55W Low Pressure UV Lamp – 9,000 hours lamp life
• Pure fused quartz – for optimal UV output penetration through the liquid
• Digital controller with lamp life timer – reminds you when to replace your UV Lamp
• Achieved UV Dose Rates: 16mJ/cm2 @142 lpm, 30mJ/cm2 @ 77 lpm, 40mJ/cm2 @ 56 lpm
UV disinfection is a technology that uses Ultra-Violet light in the germicidal wavelength between 200 and 300 manometers. The optimum UV wavelength for UV disinfection is 264 manometers which is located within the UV-C spectrum.
When Microorganisms are exposed to germicidal wavelengths, they are destroyed outright or rendered incapable of reproducing. The high energy associated with UV-C UV light is absorbed by the DNA of bacteria, viruses, spores and other pathogens. This absorption causes abnormalities with the DNA to occur, resulting in the microorganism being incapable of reproducing and infecting.
1St Filter
Pleated Washable Sediment Filters have maximum dirt holding capacity due to a large surface area of filter membrane. They can be removed and cleaned for extended life.
As water passes through the Pleated Washable Sediment Filter, sediment and dirt is blocked and captured by the filter membrane. Increased water purification is achieved with smaller micron ratings due to smaller sediment and dirt particles being unable to pass the filter membrane.
The design of the Pleated Washable Sediment Filter means that when it needs to be replaced, there will be a sudden loss in water pressure.
2nd Filter
The Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter removes odour, chlorine, colour, heavy metals and other contaminants whilst improving water taste. They are the ideal solution for the removal of chlorine in town water applications or improving taste of tank water.
These filters contain activated carbon – often referred to as activated charcoal. Contaminants in the water are attracted to the surface of the carbon through a process called adsorption (not absorption). These contaminants stick to the carbon, preventing them from passing.
Standard Coconut Carbon Block Filters are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria. The addition of silver prevents bacteria from colonising the filter. So you get all the benefits of a Carbon Block Filter – improvement of taste, colour and odour, whilst also preventing bacteria growth on the filter. Another benefit of this filter is that it has increased adsorption capacity – removing more chlorine, odour and colour than ordinary Coconut Carbon Block Filters.
Sediment removal is also achieved in the Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter. Check the micron rating of the filter to discover the sediment removal capability.
