UV Guard CWP55 Service Kit – Filters, UV Lamp & Quartz Sleeve
Keep your UV Guard CWP55 whole house water filtration and UV disinfection system operating at its best with this complete CWP55 service kit.
This service kit combines the key replacement components required for routine maintenance of your CWP55 system, including the replacement water filters, UV lamp, quartz sleeve and O-ring.
Regular servicing and replacement of these components helps maintain effective water filtration and UV disinfection performance.
Complete CWP55 Replacement Service Kit
The UV Guard CWP55 is a high-flow whole house water filtration and UV disinfection system designed for applications including rainwater, bore water and mains water supplies.
The system combines high-capacity filtration with ultraviolet disinfection. The filtration stages help reduce sediment and improve water quality before the water passes through the UV chamber for ultraviolet treatment.
This complete service kit makes it convenient to replace the key consumable components used during routine CWP55 servicing.
What’s Included in the CWP55 Service Kit
This CWP55 service kit includes:
- Stage 1 – 20 Micron Pleated Washable Filter
- Stage 2 – 5 Micron Silver Impregnated Carbon Block Filter
- Replacement 55W UV Lamp – Part No. 11066
- Replacement UV Quartz Sleeve – Part No. 20290
- Replacement O-Ring Seal
The replacement components are selected specifically for the UV Guard CWP55 system.
Stage 1 – 20 Micron Pleated Washable Filter
The first filtration stage uses a 20 micron pleated washable sediment filter.
This filter is designed to reduce sediment and suspended particles from the incoming water before it reaches the carbon filtration and UV disinfection stages.
Specifications:
- Filter type: Pleated washable sediment filter
- Micron rating: 20 micron
- Size: 20″ x 4.5″
Stage 2 – 5 Micron Silver Impregnated Carbon Block Filter
The second filtration stage uses a 5 micron silver impregnated carbon block filter.
The carbon filtration stage provides additional treatment of the water before it enters the UV chamber and helps improve water taste, odour and overall water quality.
Specifications:
- Filter type: Silver impregnated carbon block
- Micron rating: 5 micron
- Size: 20″ x 4.5″
55W Replacement UV Lamp – Part No. 11066
The CWP55 service kit includes a 55W replacement UV lamp, Part No. 11066.
The UV lamp is the key component responsible for producing the UV-C light used by the CWP55 ultraviolet disinfection system.
UV lamps gradually lose their UV output as they operate. For this reason, the UV lamp should be replaced at the recommended service interval, even if the lamp is still visibly operating.
The recommended replacement interval for the CWP55 UV lamp is every 9,000 hours, approximately 12 months.
Replacement Quartz Sleeve – Part No. 20290
The CWP55 service kit also includes a replacement UV quartz sleeve, Part No. 20290.
The quartz sleeve surrounds the UV lamp and separates the lamp from the water inside the UV chamber while allowing the UV-C light to pass through.
Over time, mineral deposits, scale or other contamination can build up on the quartz sleeve and reduce UV light transmission.
Inspecting and cleaning the quartz sleeve during servicing is recommended. Replacing the sleeve when required helps maintain effective UV light transmission through the chamber.
Replacement O-Ring Seal
A replacement O-ring is included in the service kit to help maintain the seal between the quartz sleeve and UV chamber components.
The O-ring should be replaced whenever the UV lamp is serviced rather than relying on an old or compressed seal.
Using a new O-ring during servicing helps reduce the risk of leaks and ensures the UV chamber is correctly sealed.
Why Regularly Service Your CWP55?
Regular maintenance of your CWP55 helps keep both the filtration and UV disinfection stages operating correctly.
The CWP55 uses multiple treatment stages before water reaches the UV chamber:
- Sediment filtration helps reduce suspended particles and sediment.
- Carbon filtration helps improve water taste, odour and water quality.
- UV disinfection provides ultraviolet treatment of the water.
Replacing the filters and UV components at the recommended intervals helps maintain the performance of the system.
The CWP55 system is designed with two large 20″ x 4.5″ filtration stages and a 55W UV lamp, with a maximum flow rate of up to 56 litres per minute.
When Should the CWP55 UV Lamp Be Replaced?
The CWP55 UV lamp should be replaced every 9,000 hours of operation, approximately every 12 months.
A UV lamp can continue to produce visible light after this period, but the UV output required for effective disinfection decreases over time.
Replacing the lamp at the recommended interval helps ensure the UV system continues to operate as intended.
When Should the CWP55 Water Filters Be Replaced?
Water filter replacement intervals depend on the quality of the incoming water and the volume of water being treated.
As a general guide, the CWP55 sediment and carbon filters should be inspected regularly and replaced when required.
For many installations, filter replacement will be required approximately every 6–12 months, although systems treating heavily sedimented or poor-quality water may require more frequent replacement.
Signs that filters may require replacement include:
- Reduced water flow
- Increased pressure drop across the filters
- Visible sediment loading
- Changes in water taste or odour
- Filters reaching the recommended service interval
When Should the CWP55 Quartz Sleeve Be Replaced?
The quartz sleeve should be inspected whenever the UV lamp is replaced.
Mineral deposits, scale and staining can build up on the quartz sleeve and reduce the amount of UV light reaching the water.
The quartz sleeve should be cleaned during servicing where appropriate and replaced if it is damaged, heavily scaled or no longer able to be adequately cleaned.
Replacing the quartz sleeve as part of routine servicing provides additional assurance that the UV lamp can transmit UV light effectively through the sleeve.
Suitable for UV Guard CWP55 Systems
This service kit is designed specifically for UV Guard CWP55 whole house water filtration and UV disinfection systems.
It is suitable for routine servicing where the CWP55 system requires replacement of both the filtration cartridges and UV components.
