How to remove chlorine from tap water?
The chlorine found in our tap or town water plays a vital role in ensuring our drinking water and home water supply is disinfected. The problem is that it produces unpleasant tastes and odours and can impact our morning tea or coffee experience.
When we shower or bath we may be exposed to chlorine by-products. These may cause skin irritations and if inhaled, these by-products can lead to respiratory complications such as asthma.
To drink and shower in perfectly pure water, we must remove chlorine from our home water supply.
One way to remove chlorine from tap water is by evaporation. Simply fill a jug full of tap water and let it sit in the open air for a few hours. Alternatively, boil the tap in your kettle.
Chlorine removal by evaporation is time consuming and it won’t work for the water we shower in. For an instant solution to have chlorine free water at every outlet in your home, install a chlorine removal Water Filter.
Chlorine can be removed from tap or town water by Water Filters containing activated carbon – often referred to as activated charcoal.
Contaminants in the water are attracted to the surface of the carbon through a process called adsorption (not absorption). These contaminants stick to the carbon, preventing them from passing.
