This Water Filter Kit will improve the taste, colour and odour of your drinking water. The Melt Blown Poly Spun Filter (5 Micron) removes sediment whilst the Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter (0.5 Micron) removes contaminants associated with taste and odour. The Silver prevents bacteria from colonizing the Water Filter. For this reason, it is ideal for holiday homes and tank water. It also has a micron rating of 0.5 which prevents pathogens from passing to your drinking water. Simply install into your under sink 10″ X 2.5″ Water Filter Housing and enjoy great tasting water.

Our Melt Blown Poly Spun Sediment Filters are made from food grade pure polypropylene making them safe for drinking water and food applications. Unlike other Melt Blown Poly Spun or Poly Wound Filters, these have not been subjected to fluorescent agents. Beware of filters containing fluorescent agents to make them look white. These are not safe for use and may damage health.

Melt Blown Poly Spun Sediment Filters are often called depth filters due to the thickness of string which is wound around the internal core. The micron sizing of these filters is defined as the micron size of the filter membrane at the core. There is a gradual increase in filter pore size as you move away from the core.
As water passes through the filter, larger particles are trapped before they reach the core. The design of the Melt Blown Poly Spun Sediment Filter means that as the filter ages, there is a gradual loss in water pressure.
The Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter removes odour, chlorine, colour, heavy metals and other contaminants whilst improving water taste. They are the ideal solution for the removal of chlorine in town water applications or improving taste of tank water.
These filters contain activated carbon – often referred to as activated charcoal. Contaminants in the water are attracted to the surface of the carbon through a process called adsorption (not absorption). These contaminants stick to the carbon, preventing them from passing.
Standard Coconut Carbon Block Filters are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria. The addition of silver prevents bacteria from colonising the filter. So you get all the benefits of a Carbon Block Filter – improvement of taste, colour and odour, whilst also preventing bacteria growth on the filter. This feature makes them ideal for tank water treatment and holiday homes where the filter may not be in operation for long periods. Another benefit of this filter is that it has increased adsorption capacity – removing more chlorine, odour and colour than ordinary Coconut Carbon Block Filters.
Sediment removal is also achieved in the Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter. This particular Filter has a micron rating of 0.5 meaning that the majority of pathogens will not be able to pass through.
