Our filters
Pleated Washable Sediment Filters
Pleated Washable Sediment Filters have maximum dirt holding capacity due to a large surface area of filter membrane. They can be removed and cleaned for extended life.
Water Filtration Solutions offer premium Pleated Washable Sediment Filters by Hydrosep Inc USA. Our Pleated Washable Sediment Filters are made from food grade polyester making them safe for drinking water and food applications. They are also bacterial and chemical resistant.
String Wound Sediment Filters
These filters are often called depth filters due to the thickness of string which is wound around the internal core. The micron sizing of these filters is defined as the micron size of the filter membrane at the core. There is a gradual increase in filter pore size as you move away from the core. This results in larger particles being trapped before they reach the core.
Water Filtration Solutions offer premium String Wound Sediment Filters by Hydrosep Inc USA. Our String Wound Sediment Filters are made from food grade pure polypropylene making them safe for drinking water and food applications. Unlike other String Wound or Poly Wound Filters, these have not been subjected to fluorescent agents. Beware of filters containing fluorescent agents to make them look white. These are not safe for use and may damage health.
Coconut Carbon Block Filters
These filters contain activated carbon – often referred to as activated charcoal. The Coconut Carbon Filter removes odour, chlorine, colour, heavy metals and other contaminants whilst improving water taste. Ideal for removal of chlorine in town water applications or improving taste of tank water.
Water Filtration Solutions offer the best 100% Coconut Carbon Block Filters available on the market. These filters are manufactured by Pure who have been pioneers in carbon filtration products for over 20 years. Our Coconut Carbon Block Filters are NSF certified – providing assurance of quality and performance.
Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Coconut Carbon Block Filter
These filters are similar to carbon block filters but they have been impregnated with silver. Standard Coconut Carbon Block Filters are ideal breeding grounds for bacteria. The addition of silver prevents bacteria from colonising the filter. So you get all the benefits of a Carbon Block Filter – improvement of taste, colour and odour, whilst also preventing bacteria growth on the filter. Another benefit of this filter is that it has increased adsorption capacity – removing more chlorine, odour and colour than ordinary Coconut Carbon Block Filters.
Water Filtration Solutions offer the best Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Carbon Block Filters available on the market. These filters are manufactured by Pure who have been pioneers in carbon filtration products for over 20 years. Our Silver Impregnated Antibacterial Carbon Block Filters are NSF certified – providing assurance of quality and performance.
Do Water Filters Need Changing and When Should I Replace My Water Filter?
Water Filters should be changed when they can no longer do their job. The frequency of when your Water Filter needs to be replaced depends on the usage and the quality of water being treated.
At a minimum, it is recommended that Water Filters are replaced every 12 months. However, if water quality is poor, or if the Water Filters have treated large volumes of water, Water Filters may need replacing each 3 – 6 months.
Here are our guidelines on when your Water Filters may need changing.
Water Being Treated | Number of Occupants | Change Filter Every |
---|---|---|
Town Water (Chlorinated) | 0 – 3 | 12 Months |
Town Water (Chlorinated) | 4+ | 6 Months |
Tank Water / Rainwater | 0 – 3 | 6 Months |
Tank Water / Rainwater | 4+ | 3 Months |
Bore Water | 0 – 3 | 6 Months |
Bore Water | 4+ | 3 Months |
Please note that each Water Filtration installation is different. Water quality is ever changing – no water source is the same. The above Water Filter Cartridge replacement frequencies are guidelines only. Once a Water Filtration System has been installed, you will be able to establish when your Water Filters will need to be replaced by observing the following characteristics:
Water Being Treated | Characteristic | Cause |
---|---|---|
Town Water (Chlorinated) | Chlorine taste is back. | Adsorption capacity of activated carbon reached. |
Town Water (Chlorinated) | Loss in pressure at the tap or shower | Sediment removal capacity of filter reached. |
Tank Water / Rainwater / Bore Water | Change in colour, taste and odour | Adsorption capacity of activated carbon reached. |
Tank Water / Rainwater / Bore Water | Sediment in treated water | Sediment filter has failed |
Tank Water / Rainwater / Bore Water | Loss in pressure at the tap or shower | Sediment removal capacity of filter reached. |
Even if the above characteristics are not observed during a 12 month period, the Water Filter must be changed. As Water Filters age, they begin to get contaminated with bacteria. An old Water Filter may be a breeding ground for harmful bacteria!
